Image a world where you can run as a TV character from your childhood and face other cartoon characters just for fun? Elden Ring mod creators had this thought too and decided it would be fun to place them in the game. As a result, you can play as Homer Simpson while facing Shrek as the ultimate boss.

The experience is similar to how mod skins work in Minecraft. It changes the appearance of the base characters and monsters to look like beloved TV characters from the past. Some of the ones we’re aware of include Sonic, Pepe the Frog, Goofy as a turtle, Donkey from Shrek, and My Little Pony characters replacing the wolves.

There are plenty more you can find in the Limgrave area of Elden Ring. In a way, it reminds us of a special portal in Diablo 3 that a rainbow treasure goblin drops. When you enter, you find yourself in a world surrounded by cartoon ponies, bears, and other cute assortments. However, the Elden Ring mod only changes the character skins and not the environment.

While the mod was created as a joke for Elden Ring players, it does bring some entertainment to an otherwise serious game. Of course, don’t expect any permissions or licenses for any of the characters. We’re pretty sure there are none for any of them, as you’d expect from a creative community. In the meantime, we’re still having to deal with hackers messing around with online saved files in Elden Ring.
