With Elden Ring set for release on PS4 and PS5 on February 25, 2022, there are already some high expectations from gamers. Well, BANDAI NAMCO received a pleasant surprise when pre-orders made the title go gold. FromSoftware will be working harder than ever on the day one patch to ensure it meets players’ expectations.

We’ve seen how well the Dark Souls series was received by gamers. Despite the PvP servers going offline due to security issues, it’s still one of the most popular dark fantasy titles. The trailer for Elden Ring looks spectacular, and only gives a small taste of things to come.

You’ll once again return to dark fantasy settings in a third-person view. If you’re a fan of Game of Thrones, you’ll love that author George R.R. Martin collaborated on Elden Ring, giving some of his flair to the story. There will be six biomes for your to explore in an open-world setting, with lush locations and entrancing enemies to discover and conquer.

With Elden Ring going gold, it means that Sony will be ready to publish the fantasy game on launch day. It also means that there’s a certain hype for the release, so BANDAI NAMCO will hope that it will be well received by gamers. We’ve already seen the fallout that happens when games obtain poor reviews after launching, but we don’t think there are any concerns as yet.
