Gamers have been flooding to try the latest game from developers, FromSoftware. Elden Ring is one of the highest anticipated games for 2022, and since its launch on February 25, players have been flooding the servers to try out this game. However, in true ‘Dark Souls’ fashion, players soon discovered that the Elden Ring has no pause function.

The developers feel that this adds an additional challenge to the game. Without a pause function, you’re never safe. While this challenge might be fine for short bathroom breaks, it can become very frustrating and stressful when you need to accept a pizza delivery or sort out your kids.

The well-known modder, TechieW, created a mod to solve this issue. His Pause The Game mod does precisely that. It allows players to pause the game on PC by pressing ‘P.’ The mod is becoming quite popular and already has 2176 downloads in the last four days. However, there are a few considerations to be aware of before using this mod.

For one, you can only use this mod offline – so you won’t be able to use the mod and play with friends. The simple reason for this is that you can’t pause online games and content. Another consideration is that you’ll have to disable the game’s EasyAntiCheat feature. This could be risky as FromSoftware issues ban players that disable the anti-cheat feature. This is to ensure fair online play for all players.

However, the mod is entirely safe to use, and if you accidentally left the EasyAntiCheat on, the game simply won’t open with the mod installed. So if you’re just casually playing the game and aren’t too bothered by online playing and want a pause function, this mod is for you. At least the developers updated Elden Ring with patch 1.02.2 to help with the performance issues.
